I didnt use the copper ring. I built a gasket
on my lathe that was a exact fit. I do not
have any backfires so far. I replaced the
gasket to the head up forward to make sure
that there were no leaks after moving things
around. No sealant used either. Amy is right
about a one time crush gasket.
